Description: A Bronze Age to Roman copper alloy awl, probably dating to c. 2,400 BC - AD 410. A bar of copper alloy with a circular sectioned point at one end, transitioning into a square section at the mid point, the other point is flattened in profile forming a probable tang. Length 64.4mm; Width 3.9mm; Thickness 3.6mm; weight 3.66g. Comparable awls are found as Grave goods from the Beaker period onwards, although these tend to be slightly more defined in form.
