Description: An incomplete copper alloy medieval single-looped buckle and frame dating to the period c. AD 1250 - 1400. The buckle frame is incomplete and terminates in an old break at either end. The buckle plate is formed from a single piece of metal wrapped around the strap bar with a central slot to house the missing pin. The buckle plate narrows along its length from a width of 17.86mm to 15.12mm. There is a rivet through the plate at the opposite end to the buckle frame, which pierces both ends of the bent piece of metal. The plate is undecorated. The buckle measures 45.53mm in length, 31.86mm maximum width, 15.12mm minimum width, is 9.32mm thick and weighs 21.39g.
