Description: An Early Post-Medieval (1500-1700) copper alloy mount in the form of a (possible) stylised bird-in-flight, measuring 28.39x10.33x(max)5.21mm (without bent spikes 2.69mm) and weighing 2.6g. It is D-shaped in cross-section, being flat on the reverse where the two spikes are bent inwards. The body is sub-triangular with a projection each end. The projection beyond the wide edge of the body is semi-circular in shape, the other triangular (possibly representing the bird’s head and beak).
