Description: Middle Early-Medieval Anglo-Frisian gold Solidus, c.825-850, imitating a Solidus of Louis the Pious (AD 814-840). It is 20.78mm in diameter and 1.06mm thick, weighing 4.46g. It is bent upwards and inwards on two opposing edges, on the obverse face.
Obverse: Laureate, draped bust right with long vertical bar for nose, fine hairlines, inverted trefoil for eye. DN LVVDOVS INII AVG (DN LVDOVICVS IMP AVG)
Reverse: Suspended wreath containing a large cross pattée linked to wreath on vertical axis. NIVNIVIO IVNVM (MVNVS DIVINVM)
