Description: An incomplete Medieval to Post-Medieval cast copper alloy scabbard chape, probably dating to AD 1400-1600. The surviving fragment comprises of the terminal of a cast front plate, probably originally with a decorative aperture, and a moulded knop at the terminal. The reverse is hollow. Length 19.5mm; Width 17.7mm; Thickness 3.3mm; Weight 1.98g. cf. Ward-Perkins (1940: 285-6) pl 80, no V for similar.
