With my two brothers I was an evacuee at Landford, Wilts from 1/09/1939 to 4/12/45. For my twin brothers benifit I did a write of our time as evacuees. a copy of which is on the BBCs peoples war website.
My twin brother looked back on that time with so much nostalgia but his memory failed as he fell victim to Altzeimers.
I can provide a copy if you are interested . I also have a photo of the Landford home guard, some years ago I tried to put names to faces, surprisingly difficult even though a copy of the photo hung in a local farm shop. In the end it proved too tempting for a light fingered visit0r.
