New Forest Knowledge is designed to be as accessible and as usable as possible for every user and built following common web standards.

Accessibility Policy

Our goal is to meet the Level AA standard of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0). These guidelines  cover a wide range of recommendations for making Web content more accessible, where possible we aim to:

• Provide text alternatives for non-text content
• Provide alternatives for time-based media
• Provide content that can be presented in different ways without losing information or structure
• Make it easier for users to see and hear the content provided
• Make all functionality available from a keyboard
• Provide users enough time to read and use the content
• Do not use content that causes seizures
• Provide ways to help users navigate, find content, and determine where they are
• Make text content readable and understandable
• Make Web pages appear and operate in predictable ways
• Help users avoid and correct mistakes
• Maximize compatibility with current and future user agents, including assistive technologies

Browsers

A browser is a software application used to locate, retrieve and display content on the World Wide Web, including Web pages, images, video and other files. New Forest Knowledge has been designed to work best in the latest desktop and mobile browsers.  Older browsers, although fully functional, may display certain components differently. We support the latest versions of the following browsers and platforms but would recommend Chrome as the best browser:

PDF files

Some of our records include Portable Document Format (PDF) files. Most modern browsers have a built-in PDF viewer enabled by default. PDF files can also be viewed by using Adobe Reader for desktop and Adobe Reader for mobile.
