Description: A post medieval copper alloy trade token halfpenny of Thomas Shergold of Sarum dating to AD 1666. THOMAS SHERGOLD OF SARVM obverse depicting a central crown surrounded by a band of pellets and the legend which has an initial mark of a five-petalled flower. HIS HALFPENNY 1666 reverse depicting the legend which has an initial mark of a five petalled flower around the edge of the token with a circular band of pellets and in the centre the initials TS with three five-petalled flowers above with stems that create a curvilinear design between and beneath the initials.
