FINGER RING 794822

Description: A gold post medieval posey ring dating to the period c. AD 1600 - 1750. The finger ring comprises a simple, gold circular band. The exterior is undecorated and plain, with no decoration. The interior is inscribed with the words 'I am thy lot refuse mee not'. The inscription is written in old English and in black writing. The makers mark is not visible on the interior surface. The ring measures 20.49mm in diameter, with an internal diameter of 11.08mm. The ring weighs 2.32g and has a thickness of 2.68mm. As it was not felt possible to be confident that that ring was more than 300 years old, the finder was advised that it need not be reported as potential Treasure.
