Description: An incomplete post-medieval (1600-1750) cast one-piece copper-alloy button with integral drilled shank. Half the shank is now missing (recent damage). The button is circular and flat with decoration in the form of an engraved clockwise hatched four-bladed impeller, ring-and-dot motifs between the blades, around a central ring-and-dot and all within a grooved circle. It measures 21.6mm in diameter and stands 6.1mm in incomplete height. The drilled area in the shank measures 4.6mm in diameter. The button weighs 3.78g. Read comments this type of button is 17th century in date, possibly extending into the 18th century (2010 p.35). Cf. no.135.
