Description: Probably a silver 10 sols ('aux insignes') of Louis XIV of France, bent into a 'love token' The practice of bending coins out of shape and smoothing the coins surface and presenting them to others as a gesture of love was common from the late 17th century until the 19th century. They were often engraved with symbols of love or the initials of the sender and recipient.
