BUTTON 727804
Description: A post-medieval (1600-1750) copper alloy probable button, with two separate iron rivets apparently drilled through the surface. The button is circular and flat, with one iron rivet at the centre and another close to the edge (they are apparent as 1.4mm diameter circular-sectioned rivets on the decorated face of the button but on the reverse form a large area of iron corrosion). The button is decorated to the front with a grooved six-armed impeller around the cetral rivet, within a grooved line flanking the edge. The reverse is rough and uneven. It measures 14.3mm in diameter, 3.7mm in max.thickness (without the iron corrosion, the object is 2.8mm thick) and weighs 2.71g.
