Description: An incomplete copper alloy Post Medieval (AD c.1600-1700) strap fitting, missing the ends of its integral lugs. It is in the shape of a cordiform frame around a broadly crescent-shaped openwork design. The frame is D-shaped in section. There is a circular knop at each of the corners at the wide end of the heart. Between the knops, there are two globular shapes which join them together. On the reverse there are the stumps of three integral lugs, one at each corner. Overall the strap fitting measures 26.80mm long, 26.10mm wide and 6.45mm thick (2.70mm not including the lugs). It weighs 3.92g.
