STRAP FITTING 601089

Description: An incomplete copper alloy post-medieval (AD c.1600-1700) strap fitting with integral pointed lugs, missing the ends of the lugs. The strap fitting is broadly sub-triangular in shape, with a disc shaped terminal at the wider end and a trefoil at the other. There are the stumps of two integral lugs on the reverse, one near the centre at the wide end of the triangle and the other projectiing from the rear of one of the side leaves of the trefoil. There is no discernible decoration on the object. Overall it measures 30.15mm long, 9.05mm wide and 5.70mm thick (the body of the fitting not including the lugs is 1.95mm thick). It weighs 2.35g.
