Description: Complete bronze looped socketed axe. Rectangular-sectioned mouth with rounded corners. Sides expanding out slightly to straight blade. Prominent, angular collar at mouth with horizontal moulded ridge below on all sides. Casting flashes at all seams. Patchy, silvery patina indicates a reasonably high tin content. A well-cast and moulded example. L: 129 W. mouth: 38 B. mouth: 46.5 Socket dims.: 27 x 30 W. loop: 5.5-8.5. Part of a hoard of 68 Armorican socketed axeheads.
