Description: Complete bronze looped socketed axe. Straight blade. Almost square-sectioned mouth with rounded corners. Prominent slightly angular collar at mouth. Two close-set narrow horizontal mouldings on all sides below collar. Large slightly off-centre side loop. Large part of clay core intact. Upper edge of socket worked. The two halves of the axe were not properly squared during casting. L: 132.5 W. mouth: 37.5 B. mouth: 41 Socket dims.: 25 x 31 W. loop: 7-9. Part of a hoard of 68 Armorican socketed axeheads.
