Description: Complete bronze looped socketed axe. Straight blade. Square-sectioned mouth with rounded corners. Prominent, slightly angular collar at mouth. Two horizontal mouldings below collar on all sides. The side loop joins onto the lower moulding. Casting sprues filed down half the length of one side, but remain elsewhere. Clay core intact. A well-cast and moulded example. L: 132.5 W. mouth: 37 B. mouth: 41 Socket dims.: 25 x 31 W. loop: 7-9. Part of a hoard of 68 Armorican socketed axeheads.
