Description: A sheet copper-alloy probably hilt-plate from a medieval rondel dagger. The object is circular in shape and slightly convex in profile. It has a central triangular perforation (14.5 by c. 10.2mm), slightly cracked at the corners. The object is slightly corroded with a mid-green patina where it survives. No decoration is discernible. Such hilt-plates tend to be given a 15th-century date, although they could be earlier. For rondel daggers see Ward Perkins (1940, 42; Plate VIII).
