Description: Cast copper-alloy openwork plate brooch. S-shaped with straight sides and slightly expanded terminals which join onto the main body of the brooch forming sub-oval holes with bevelled edges. The terminal straight sides are decorated with regularly-spaced V-shaped notches. Double-lugged hinge with traces of iron axis bar; pin missing. Deep catchplate with notch for pin; slightly bent. Even, dark green patina. This is an unusual form of plate brooch and no exact parallel has been found.
