BROOCH 32373

Description: Cast copper-alloy bow brooch; large two-piece Dolphin-type. The bow is comma-shaped, with a thick and rounded head which tapers towards the foot. The bow is of V-section with angled sides. The wide, semi-cylindrical side-wings are undecorated. The spring and pin are missing, but the spring would have been attached by the rearward-facing hook. The catchplate which extends half way up the bow is intact. Smooth, black patina, surfaces slightly pitted.
