VESSEL 290223

Description: Seven body sherds of Roman (AD 250-270+) New Forest Ware 3 (possibly), collectively weighing 55g. The collection comprises 2 base sherds and 5 miscellaneous fragments. The fabric is a peach-coloured soapy ware, very eroded, and could be included with the peach coloured 'New Forest Ware 1', from the same findspot. There are traces of black slip and some fragments are clay-ey. The base measures between 35-50mm in diameter. Largest sherd 55x40mm, smallest 20x10mm.
