Description: Nineteen sherds of Roman (AD 250-270+) New Forest colour-coated Ware 2 (possibly), weighing collectively 318.43g. The collection comprises 1 handle fragment with attached body of a little flagon (a waster), 3 bases and 15 miscellaneous fragments (no rims). The fabric is grey and very hard, without inclusions. Mostly thin-walled fine vessels, very little sooting, variable in colour from light grey to reddish. The bases measure between 40-60mm in diameter. Largest sherd 90x50mm, smallest 15x10mm.
