COIN 270711
Description: A worn late 17th-century post-medieval silver sixpence of William III struck in London in 1696 AD (Spink 3520). This coin has a reverse die error where 'REX' is rendered 'RFX'. Although die errors whereby an 'F' has been substituted for an 'E' are known for these coins, the error noted in this specific point in the legend is seemingly not noted in the main literature.
