Description: Early Medieval or Medieval copper alloy scale pan. This thin copper alloy disc has a diameter of 41.74mm and is slightly concave, being 3.14mm deep. The pan has three holes for suspension, however only one is clearly seen, the other two being filled with corrosion products. The surface has a dark brown-black patina, with patches of lighter red-brown on the upper surface, and an area of green corrosion on the reverse. It is in relatively good condition, apart from being slightly bent, and a fracture extending approximately 10mm in from the edge.
