Description: Post Medieval copper alloy spoon. The spoon is damaged and in two pieces. The handle has recently been snapped, leaving approximately one third of the handle attached to the bowl. The handle is sub-circular in section, with moulded decoration comprised of a baluster-end terminal with flat disc. The terminal disc has a diameter of 9.2mm. The handle is sub-rectangular, expanding in width where it joins the bowl. The seperate handle section is 66.26mm long, 1.87mm thick. The oval, concave bowl is 8.64mm deep, with the thickness of the metal being 1.87mm. The bowl is 53.19mm long and 43.74mm wide. The edge of the bowl is damaged and worn, and there is a small patch of corrosion adhering to the reverse of the bowl. The spoon has a dull brown patina with small patches of green copper corrosion. The total length of the spoon is 151.21mm.
