STRAP END 141611

STRAP END 141611
Description: A worn cast copper-alloy artefact - probably a strap-end. The object is crude and simply made, with a bulbous terminal and split attachment end. The split is 10mm in length. At the attachment end a rivet is extant, while one of the two elements has become abraded at its terminal. Constructionally, this strap-end could feasibly be early medieval in date, although a medieval date ought not to be ruled out. The object is plain, with an orange-brown patina.
