BUCKLE 136763
Description: Incomplete post medieval sheet copper alloy buckle plate missing its axis bar and one rivet. It is slightly bent, 27.4mm in length and V-shaped, its widest part being at the axis bar (10.4mm). It is 0.4mm thick.
The plate is presumably a top-plate only. The sides extend past the end and curl underneath (to hold the missing axis bar). The body has two rivet holes, the one at the pointed end having a rivet in situ which is c.7mm in length and 1.3mm in diameter. The plate may also have transverse incised lines. The edges turn sharply into a V from the second (intact) rivet.
Weighs 0.93g. Probably 17th century, or later.
