Description: A Lower Palaeolithic sub-cordate handaxe. Bifacially worked with areas of cortex remaining on both surfaces. The 'ventral' face has invasive removal scars to the right and left of the pointed apex, and natural fracture lines at the butt. The 'dorsal' has invasive stepped removals along both sides, and a large natural fracture with loss of surface area at the butt, corresponding to the fracture line on the other face. Water worn. Orange/beige chert with small patches of recortication.
