Description: An incomplete Early Medieval copper alloy Small-long brooch, probably dating to c. AD 450-600. The surviving fragment comprises of the foot only. The foot is elongated and flares into a flat terminal with its edges elaborated with crescentic punches. The foot is surmounted by a moulded abutting triple-stranded collar, with the centre-most being the most pronounced. This is in turn topped by a flanged rectangular section, from the reverse of this projects a catchplate with right curling pin rest. The start of the arc of the bow projects from above this, but is truncated by an old break. length 40.8mm; width 14.8mm; thickness 10.0mm; weight 5.54g.
