    I believe the caption for this image is incorrect. The aircraft shown in the image is a Bristol F2b Fighter but 68 Squadron never flew that type; 68 Squadron flew the SE5a which was a smaller, single-seat fighter.

    If the location of Spich Aerodrome is correct, then the aircraft might be serial number E2428 of 11 Squadron which crashed on 4 July 1919. The crew comprised Lt Shreeve (Pilot) and Lt Cougle (Observer).

    The presence of the number ‘8’ aft of the roundel on the fuselage matches individual airframe markings for some 11 Squadron airframes.

    If the crash is not 11 Squadron, then the aircraft would belong to either 22 or 62 Squadrons.
