Contemporary Copy of Will of Thomas Lintott of Walhurst in Cowfold, gent

Description: Devise to wife Ann Lintott for life of a messuage called Walhurst and Ashurst in Cowfold and a house adjoining the churchyard in Cowfold And also a messuage called Wymarks or Corner house in Shermanbury, and after her decease to daughter Cassandra Lintott and her heirs, with testator's estate at Cockfield and a little cottage at Slowgreene adjoining to the said (sic) Morefields for her and her issue. If no children then to testator's brother John Lintott and his heirs If Cassandra should died before attaining 21 years, then the messuage called Wymarks and the house adjoining the churchyard given to testator's brother Henry Lintott, he paying to testator's sister Pilfold of Warnham 20s. a quarter for life Also to testator's brother John Lintott the messuage called Walhurst and Ashurst, he paying to said sister Pilfold 20s. a quarter Bequest to poor of Cowfold 50s. and to poor of Shermanbury 50s. To brothers Henry and John £100 each Executrix and residuary legatee: wife Ann Lintott Witnesses:- John Roberts, Jacob Knowles, John Savage With a separate sheet of instructions to executrix concerning funeral, with names of bearers and underbearers, and as to estate £20 to be laid out on a piece of communion plate for the use of Henfield church with his name and arms engraved on it and the date £20 given to brother Hoffman for mourning
