Description: A copper-alloy post-medieval Nuremberg mercury bust jetton issued by Hanns Krauwinckel II, dating to the period AD 1586-1635. There is a hole pierced through the centre. Obverse depicts the bust of Mercury right, wearing a winged helmet, surrounded by the legend HANNS KRAVWINCKEL IN NV. Reverse depicts an imperial orb surmounted by a cross pattee within a tressure with three main arches and surrounded by the legend HEVT RODT MORGEN TODTT. The jetton has a radius of 20.5mm and weighs 0.8g. cf. Mitchiner (1988: 447) no.1594.
