Description: A copper alloy thimble dating to c.1300-1500. A domed thimble with traces of a circumferential groove at the rim. The small circular indentations or pits have been applied in vertical rows from just above the circumferential groove to just below the crown, leaving a large bare area or "tonsure" which has a single, central pit at the top. The thimble is squashed and has split slightly at the rim.
