CLOTH SEAL 840637
Description: A complete post medieval lead cloth seal dating to the period ADc.1500- 1700.
The seal is comprised of two discs, which are both linked together by a rectangular tag. The tag has appeared to have been a single piece lead with symmetrical sides and then folded over, sealing the two discs together. Originally, the symbol would have been stamped on the obverse surface of a disc, however this ceases to exist. The two discs have are damaged and both of the bottom edges have been folded away from each other over time. This has also happened to the rectangular tag.
