BUCKLE 83569

Description: Copper alloy D-shaped buckle. The frame is rectangular in section and has an expanded outer edge that is wide and flat and is angled away from the bar at 45º (W. 4.75-11.45mm). There is a quatrefoil aperture in the outer edge located slightly off centre with a border comprising two incised lines separated by a ridge. The sides are thicker with a flat reverse and convex upper surface so tha tthey are D-shaped in section. The bar is narrowed and offset and has moulded knops at either end (L. 19.91mm. Th. 1.75-2.06mm). The pin has a flat reverse and slightly convex upper surface so that it is generally D-shaped in section (L. 13.44mm. W. 2.42-3.68mm. Th. 1.02-1.54mm). Reddish-brown and mid-green patina. L. 15.78mm. W. 25.35mm. Th. 1.04-2.35mm. Wt. 2.99g.
