HARNESS PENDANT 83368

Description: Copper alloy harness pendant of medieval date. Projecting from one end is a suspension loop (L. 9.16mm. W. 6.66mm. Th. 3.43mm). The pendant thickens at the junction with the suspension loop. The pendant was originally an elaborate quatrefoil shape, but is now corroded and the edges have been damaged. The upper surface is slightly convex and the reverse is flat so that it is broadly D-shaped in section. The upper surface is heavily pitted and has moulded decoration, the design of which is now unclear. Patchy reddish-brown patina.
