Description: A fragment of a Roman copper alloy and iron furniture fitting The fragment consists of an approximately rounded stem 13.41mm in length, 10.41mm in width, made up of three moulded shapes,stacked one on the other, two bi-conical and one larger, inverted cone. There are breaks at both ends at which points iron corrosion can be seen. The first of the biconical shapes is 8.32mm in diameter, the second, which is flatter in shape, is 7.53mm in diameter. The third feature, which is the inverted cone, is oval, 8.70mm by 10.41mm. At both ends an iron shank or projection is visible.
