BUCKLE 811852

Description: A medieval to early post-medieval (1350-1550) copper-alloy double oval buckle frame, missing most of one loop and the pin. The breaks are worn and old. The surviving loop is oval in shape and triangular in cross-section, being flat to the reverse with a short vertical inside edge. The pin bar is slightly narrowed and rather flat, expanding at either end into a triangle as it meets the frame. All original patina is missing. It measures 20.2x18.0x1.5mm and weighs 0.87g. Cf.
