BUCKLE 811824

Description: An incomplete medieval or post-medieval double oval buckle frame, probably dating to the 16th or 17th century. It is missing part of the second loop and the pin. The central bar is triangular in cross-section with traces of iron corrosion, presumaby from the missing pin. It measures 19.5x23.9x2.6mm and weighs 1.97g. Cf. Whitehead 2003 p.53 no.294 for a similar buckle, and WILT-24F46E on this database.
