Description: An incomplete copper alloy harness link/strap distributor of the Late Early Medieval Period, dating to AD 1000 - AD 1100 It consists of a sub triangular shaped terminal which has a central oval opening. The terminal has three sub circular knops, one at each point of the triangle, and an arm, which is rectangular in plan and D-shaped in cross-section, and which extends from the centre of the base of the terminal. A probable parallel has been published in Williams (2007), pg 5. Fig 6 a) or b). Similar examples have been recorded on the PAS database, including: BERK-31EDC3, HESH-91A1D7 and KENT-605192. The harness link is 27.22mm in length, 21.43mm in width, 5.08mm in thick and weighs 4.62g.
