STRAP FITTING 752815

Description: A copper-alloy post medieval strap fitting dating to the period c. AD 1600 - 1700. The fitting is D-shaped in profile with an ovular central raised boss. Trapeziodal terminals with rounded corners project from either end of the boss. Each terminal exhibits a lug projecting from the reverse which is bent at a ninety degree angle approximately mid-way along its length. The strap fitting has an uneven brown/green patina. The strap fitting measures 21.65mm in length, 9.7mm wide, 13.6mm thick and weighs 3.45 grams. Cf. HAMP-99D433
