Description: A copper alloy circular trade weight probably dating to the 17th or 18th century, probably for a quarter ounce. It is the smallest denomination from a stacking set. Weighs 5.78g (0.204 oz). The obverse has the following impressed marks within the recess: (a.) E D, (b.) Large crown above D G, (c.) Small crown above ?A. ONe of these is probably a non-uniform mark for a county of borough. The reverse has a central depression, possibly a lathe centering point.
