STRAP FITTING 726396

Description: A copper-alloy post-medieval strap-fitting (c. 17th century AD). The mount is broadly oval with two trefoil projections, one located at each end. The main body of the artefact is decorated with two sets of two raised tansverse ridges. On the reverse there are a pair of lugs, both are incomplete. The lower surface is otherwise flat and plain. The strap fitting is 43.5mm in length, 12.0mm wide, 5.4mm thick and weighs 5.83 grams.
