STRAP FITTING 726256

Description: A copper-alloy post-medieval strap-fitting (c. 17th century AD). The mount is sub-triangular in plan, terminating at the apex in a broadly circular knop. There is a broadly triangular protrusion at the other, flattened end. On the reverse there are a pair of lugs, both are incomplete due to old breaks. The lower surface is otherwise flat and plain with a slight concavity at the centre. The strap fitting is 21.35mm in length, 10.75mm wide, 7.55mm thick and weighs 2.41 grams.
