Description: A medieval copy alloy Type 3 key dating to c AD 1200-1300. The key comprises a circlar bow which has been hammered flatter than the stem. The stem is hollow and at the terminal, there is slight damage, probably from use. There is some corrosion along the lower edge of the stem which may be a seam line. The stem does not extend beyond the bit. The bit extends beneath the end of the stem. The clefts are not well defined. There are two concavities along the front edge and a single concavity along the back edge in line with lower of the two on the front edge. There are diagonal scratch marks on both sides of the bit which may have been caused by wear.
