Description: Complete bronze looped socketed axe. Straight sides expanding out slightly at straight blade. Square-sectioned mouth with rounded corners. Prominent collar at mouth with poorly cast horizontal moulded ridge below on all sides. Casting flashes at seams and copper-alloy adhesion on one side - casting fault. L: 131.5 W. mouth: 37 B. mouth: 41 Socket dims.: 25 x 27 W. loop: 5-9.5. Part of a hoard of 68 Armorican socketed axeheads.
