Description: Complete bronze looped socketed axe. Straight sides expanding out slightly at straight blade. Rectangular-sectioned mouth with rounded corners and large socket. Prominent collar at mouth with poorly-cast horizontal moulded ridge below on all sides. Very prominent casting flashes at seams and on all edges. Small hole at mouth. This is a completely unfinished example. L: 130 W. mouth: 31.5 B. mouth: 40 Socket dims.: 26 x 28.5 W. loop: 6-7. Part of a hoard of 68 Armorican socketed axeheads.
