Description: An iron Medieval to Modern (1250-1900) horseshoe. It is heavily corroded but there are traces of several nails visible on the foot surface and the ground surface. Overall it measures 115.75mm long, 12.30mm wide and 7.65mm thick. It weighs 256g. The size of the horseshoe suggests a late-Medieval 1250-1500 date (Clark (1986) Finds Research Group 700-1700 Datasheet 4 'Medieval Horsehoes'). There is single calkin on the right branch at the heel of the shoe which may suggest a narrower date range of 1250-1350. There appear to have been six rectangular nail holes, arranged three on each branch in the quarter part of the shoe.
