Description: An incomplete copper alloy Post-Medieval (c.1500-1700) double oval buckle, missing the buckle plate. Overall the buckle measures 35.60mm long, 29.80mm wide and 7.05mm thick (the frame itself measures 2.95mm thick). It weighs 8.09g. The frame is bevelled on its inside edge and there are three transverse engraved lines on the widest point of each loop. A heavily corroded iron pin is still attached to the central strap bar. cf.
