Description: Complete bronze looped socketed axe. Vertical sides tapering out slightly to straight blade. Rectangular-sectioned mouth with round corners. Prominent collar at mouth with prominent horizontal moulded ridge below on front and reverse sides and less prominent ridge on one and a half sides. Bronze rounded adhesion mid-way down one side - casting fault. L: 132.5 W. mouth: 33.5 B. mouth: 38.5 Socket dims.: 23 x 26 W. loop: 4.5-6. Part of a hoard of 68 Armorican socketed axeheads.
